The Atlantic Immigration Program is a federal immigration program that helps employers recruit skilled foreign workers and international graduates to meet labour needs. The AIP began as a pilot program in 2017 and due to its success, has become a permanent program starting January 1, 2022.
Through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), the federal government (known as IRCC), together with the governments of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island, aim to welcome eligible skilled workers, intermediate level workers, and international graduates and their families to the Atlantic region of Eastern Canada as permanent residents of Canada.
